Traminac Wine Festival take place in Ilok on 14-15 June 2019
So what is Traminac?
They say that Traminac (or Traminer), an ancient variety with green-skinned grape, takes its name from the village of Tramin, located in South Tyrol, the German-speaking province in northern Italy. However, there is no evidence as yet to confirm where the variety is originally from. The famous ampelographer, Pierre Galet, thought that Traminac was identical to the green-skinned Savagnin Blanc. But, more recently it has been suggested that Savagnin Blanc has a slightly different leaf shape and geraniol content.
